Yes, you can get out of credit card debt. If you are determined to get out of credit card debt you surely can get out of credit card debt. Though it’s a bit difficult to get out of credit card debt, it isn’t impossible. All you need to get out of credit card debt is determination and planning. Both are equally important (or maybe determination is even more important). Determination doesn’t come without proper reason.

So, you need to first ask this question to yourself – ‘What will I get if I am able to get out of credit card debt?’, ‘What difference will it make’, ‘What’s in it for me’ or ‘Is it really beneficial to get out of credit card debt’. Use the answers to build your determination. The fact that all the nagging via mails/phone (by the credit card supplier and/or their collection agent), will be gone, should do good to strengthening your determination and should provide you with a reason on why you should endeavour to get out of credit card debt.

Think about the stress-free life after you get out of credit card debt. Try to link various reasons together and try to see the benefits through them. All these collectively will help in bolstering your determination and prevent it from getting weak at any point in time.

The second thing that you need to get out of credit card debt is planning. The planning to get out of credit card debt will start with making a list of the credit cards that you currently posses and noting the debt and the APR for each of them. The sum total of all these various credit card debts, will give you the total credit card debt. You also need to check if you have been defaulting on payments on some of these credit cards (and hence incurring a late fee). You will need to avoid that and put it on the plan you have prepared to get out of credit card debt.

The next step in getting out of credit card debt is to check your current financial position and make an assessment of what you expect your future financial position to be. Next the research to check the various balance transfer offers available in the market; to see if one of these can prove beneficial to you. Use all this information to calculate how much time you will require to get out of credit card debt and how you will distribute the debt payment across your various credit cards (ensuring that you payoff the debt that is hitting you the most and also ensuring that you don’t incur late fee on any credit card payments).

Eliminate Credit Card Debt Without Bankruptcy ? A Proven Debt Relief Tactic

Rising credit card debts are a result of personal financial mismanagement. Many times, people have a tendency of spending more than they actually earn which leads to problems. Since credit card allows instant purchases without cash, people sometimes spend a lot of money without thinking of how they would be repaying this money to the credit card company. A knowledge of how to instantly eliminate credit card debt without bankruptcy or credit counseling is essential because in absence of this knowledge, our credit score and credit history can get affected negatively. Non payment of credit card dues can make it difficult for you to get a loan sanctioned in future when you need money desperately. In the next few paragraphs, let us discuss how to eliminate credit card debt without filing for bankruptcy.

Ways of Eliminating Credit Card Debt

It is possible to eliminate credit card debt without bankruptcy if you can prevent the use of your credit cards. As far as possible, you should stop using credit cards and make cash or check payments. This will help you do away with your habit of using credit cards. Even if you wish to own a credit card, you should make sure that you have just a single one. Owning multiple credit cards of different companies can be a big deterrent in your task of eliminating credit card debt without bankruptcy. Credit card debt consolidation which involves the shifting of all your debts to a single card can be very useful to get rid of credit card debt.

If you own multiple credit cards, then you should pay off the debt on those cards first which are charging you a comparatively higher rate of interest. You should pay that amount which you are comfortable paying without putting too much stress on your financial position. Spending cautiously is very important when you are under debt. As far as possible, you should avoid spending more than your income. Try to invest some part of your income to earn more money. You can also take up a part time job to earn extra bucks and pay off your debts comfortably. Preparing a monthly budget in which you will be allocating funds for different purposes can help you a lot in this regard. The only essential thing is that you follow your set budget plan seriously for successfully eliminating credit card debt.

Maintaining a proper discipline while repaying credit card debt is extremely essential. As far as possible, you should pay off the stipulated monthly amount to avoid the interest to accumulate over a period of time. Approaching the consumer credit counseling service is an option which is suggested to many people these days. These counseling agencies will arrive at a decision whether you can become a part of their debt management programs and accordingly, they will pay your debts to the credit card company.

Having an effective communication with the credit card company is extremely vital to eliminate credit card debt without bankruptcy. You should approach the credit card company with a well drafted proposal of repaying the debts. Some credit card companies might not charge you with interest for a specific period of time to help you pay off your debts. Easy To Accumulate And Now Easy To Eliminate

Credit Card Debt ? Easy To Accumulate And Now Easy To Eliminate

Credit card indeed has added a touch of great convenience to our lives. Yet it has also paved the way to wild spending habits and mounting debt figures. If you are suffering from enormous credit card debts, then be assured, you are certainly not the only one in this plight! Surveys and researches confirm that an average US family owes about 00 as credit card debt and pays around 00 as interest every year! A little reckless you get with your credit card and you may land up with a bloated credit card debt encroaching on your finances!

Living under debt burdens could be quite distressing. And therefore it is always advisable to get your debt issues resolved as soon as possible. Now if your much cherished credit cards have reaped you quite a bit of due, then it is time you get the dues eliminated and restore a debt-free life for yourself.

Here are some guidelines on how to prepare for your credit card debt repayments.

· Analyze your financial position:

In the very first thing, jot down your resources including all your income, assets and monthly savings on a piece of paper. That would allow you to have an insight into your financial position and you will know how much you are actually capable of paying towards your credit card debt repayments.

· Prioritize your repayments:

Once you have thoroughly evaluated your financial position, identify which of the cards have high interest rates and have longer late payment dues. It would help you to better decide on a repayment scheme.

· Curtail on your credit cards:

One of the best ways to stop your credit card debts from piling up, is to retain a single credit card with lower interest. Also set your credit card aside strictly for emergency purposes. Resist all your temptations and abstain from indulging in redundant expenditures with it! This would surely save you from getting into more credit card debts

What are the repayment options in hand?

Once you are aware of the actual state of your finances, you would know exactly how much you can dedicate towards the repayment. If you do not seem to be quite sure of paying back your debts totally, then credit card debt settlement would definitely pull you out of your problems.

On the other hand, if you feel you are capable of paying all your credit card debts in full amount, provided the repayment is spread over a longer period of time, then, opting for credit card debt consolidation would be wise.

· Credit Card Debt Settlement

Debt settlement, in simplest term, refers to a debt reduction procedure where in, the debtor and the creditor agree upon a reduced sum of money, which is regarded as payment in full. For getting your credit card debts settled at a reduced amount, you may either negotiate with the credit card company directly or you may hire a BBB accredited settlement company for getting your job done.

In most cases, creditors do agree on debt settlement, if they are confirmed of the debtor’s crippled finances. The creditors would rather go for settlement than find you land up with a bankrupt status, because a bankrupt debtor would not repay even a single penny but settlement would at least fetch a portion of the due.

However it is equally important for you to offer a fat settlement amount to your creditors, in order to further lure them into settlement. All you need to do is be a little tactful and get your debts effectively negotiated. A good negotiation can slash your debts considerably, that is, even up to 60% of the original amount.

· Credit Card Debt Consolidation

Debt consolidation simply means combining several debts into a single payment, which you pay off at a lower monthly interest and over an extended period of time. You may get your credit card debts consolidated by any of the following means:

1. Resort to balance transfer: If you have more than one credit card to deal with, you might consider transferring all your credit card debts from cards with higher APRs to one with a lower APR. This would not only lower the amount of money you are spending on the interest but also help you eliminate your debts faster.

2. Use a HELOC as a consolidation loan: If you have considerable equity on your home, you may use it as collateral and take out a Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC). Collateralized loans usually have low interest rates that come as a great advantage. With the loan, you may pay off your existing credit card dues and that would leave you with a single payment to be made towards the loan.

3. Hire services of a bona fide debt consolidation company: You may also enroll in a consolidation program offered by a BBB accredited debt consolidation company and get your credit card debts consolidated. Once you sign up for the program, your entire debt issue is handled by the company until your debts are paid off. All you need to do is make your monthly payments to the company. And from this monthly sum the company would disburse the monthly dues of your creditors and pave your way to a debt free life.

Now, if all that sounds like a much awaited relief from your spiraling credit card debts, then why not start with your repayment plans right now! Brooding over your debts is easy, but taking the right step towards a fruitful solution is even easier. All you require is the right attitude! So, plan your repayment and secure a nice, peaceful life for yourself and your family!

Eliminate Credit Card Debt ? Legitimate Solutions To Get Out Of Credit Debt

Today’s generation has a tendency to spend more than it earns, thanks to credit cards which offer easy money, available anytime, anywhere. Splurging on food, clothes and such items that we don’t need, has become so commonplace, that we don’t even realize when overspending becomes a habit, that we are unable to control. On top of that, taking loans, such as an education loan or a home loan has been accepted as a natural growing up process, that is, you go to college , take an education loan, you get married and take a home loan. All these expenses put together, add to our credit card debt. If you find yourself in a similar situation, do not feel disheartened. Here are some tips and techniques to eliminate credit card debt.

Means to Eliminate Credit Card Debt

Make Timely Payments
The best way to eliminate credit card debt is to make sure that such a situation, that is ‘debt’ does not occur in the first place. This is possible, if you pay your monthly dues on credit card regularly and on time.

Use Cash
Another way of credit card debt elimination, is to pay cash for your transactions, instead of paying through a credit card. In short, refrain from using credit cards altogether. If you go slightly back in time and remember, when all transactions were settled through cash, life was simple and rarely were there any cases of debt.

Change your Spending and Saving Habits
Alter your spending and saving habits. Curb your expenses by buying only those things that you need. Spending intelligently will help in eliminating your credit card debt. Start saving a fixed amount of money per month. It will be handy, in times of emergency. Budgeting, that is, making a monthly budget and listing out all your incomes and expenditures in advance and sticking to the budget helps to eliminate credit card debt. Read more on how to eliminate credit card debt.

Consolidate your Debt
If you wish to know how to eliminate credit card debt fast, I would recommend credit card debt consolidation. You may contact the various debt consolidation companies for this purpose. Consolidating credit cards means that you shift all your credit card balances to only one card. This has many advantages, such as it makes debt repayment easy, as you have to repay on only one card, instead of many cards. Secondly, it also helps in lowering the rate of interest due on the accumulated debt. Thus, you end up paying much lesser than what you were supposed to pay initially with numerous credit cards.

Cut down on Credit Cards
To eliminate credit card debt, cut down on the number of credit cards you hold. If you are holding a number of cards, it might happen that sometimes, due to your busy schedule, you forget the last date of payment for some cards. If this happens, you will default on your payment and thus, you have to pay an interest on the credit card amount. This will add to your credit card debt.

Prioritize Payments
Make the minimum payments on those cards first, on which you have a comparatively higher interest rate, as accumulation of interests over time can increase your amount of debt. Also, it is recommended that you list out all the debts that are due on your credit cards. Start with paying the minimum amounts due on each of these debts first. If you have any debts which are of smaller amounts and you have the finances to do away with it altogether, it is advised that you make a full payment for it immediately. Thus, by prioritizing or by taking one debt at a time, you can eliminate credit card debt without bankruptcy. Read more on how to get rid of credit card debt fast.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS)
If your query is, “how to legally eliminate credit card debt?”, I would recommend that you consider taking credit counseling from a Consumer Credit Counseling Service. They have various criteria to check, whether a person is eligible for their debt management plan. If you meet those criteria, then the CCCS will make payments to the credit card company on your account. The CCCS also, performs the function of debt negotiation. It will negotiate with the credit card company, to lower your interest rates. In return for these services, you have to make a payment of predetermined amount to the CCCS every month.

Negotiate with the Credit Card Company
If you have a good financial history and have been paying your dues on time, some companies have a policy for such people, wherein they don’t charge interests on the credit card debt for a specified time period. If this is the case, check with a representative of the credit card company and see if you can get some relief from the interest payment, this will give you ample time to eliminate your credit card debt, or at least plan for it. You may also negotiate the amount of money due on your credit card with the credit card company. If you are able to work out a deal with the company, the company might ask you to pay a discounted amount, instead of the full debt. The company will, however, specify a time period within which that amount has to be paid.

These are a few ways, in which you can eliminate credit card debt legally. Once you are able to do away with the debt, remember to be careful, and spend money wisely. After all, moderation in spending and saving for the future, are the key to robust financial health.

If you are struggling with paying back your credit card debt or any other unsecured debts there is legitimate help out there. Debt settlement usually makes financial sense for consumers with over k in unsecured debt. There are also other options available.

Taking a step towards credit card debt elimination, so you have decided to go for credit card debt elimination and are wondering on what the methods for credit card debt elimination are. As they say, let’s take the bull by its horns and lay it all flat on the ground. There are generally 2 recommendations that are most common for credit card debt elimination: controlling the expenditures and consolidating debt. Let’s check both of these credit card debt elimination recommendations and check the list of things that you can do for achieving credit card debt elimination using these recommendations:

1.	Control your urge to spend: The first thing to do for credit card debt elimination is to control your expenditures. Here we are talking about the payments you make using your credit card. Remember that the main reason being you’re getting into credit card debt is uncontrolled expenditures using your credit card. So if you are really serious about credit card debt elimination, this is one thing that will help in credit card debt elimination by preventing accumulation of further debt. Here is what you can do to control your expenditures:
a.	You need to stay away from attractive offers that are put-up by various shops and stores. Don’t buy anything that you don’t really-really need. After all you are looking for credit card debt elimination not supplementation.
b.	Leave your credit card at home. If you really-really need something, then you can fetch your credit card from your house. This will prevent you from yielding to the too-attractive-to-resist sale offers (that are actually there all the year round). This credit card debt elimination technique, again, works on the principal of ‘prevention is better than cure’. This will prevent unplanned expenses from happening.
c.	Prepare a monthly budget and stick to it. This is really a very important credit card debt elimination measure. This budget will form the basis of your credit card debt elimination plan. So if you deviate from your budget, your credit card debt elimination plan will go for a toss.

2.	Debt consolidation: Debt consolidation or moving from high APR credit cards to a low APR one is generally the first step (the first reactive step) for credit card debt elimination. Here are a few things that you need to do:
a.	Do not go for the first balance offer you come across. Analyse various offers and choose the one that best suits you. This will be an important thing on you credit card debt elimination plan. Initial APR, Initial APR period and standard Apr, all need to be considered.
b.	Read the fine print on the balance transfer offer and check the terms and conditions on these. These might affect your overall credit card debt elimination plan.
c.	Compare other benefits e.g. rebates, reward points, etc, before you actually decide to go for one of the offers.

Credit card debt elimination is about proper planning and discipline. So make your credit card debt elimination plan and stick to it.

Help answer the question about credit card debt

What is the best way to payoff my credit card debt?
I currently have around 10,000.00 dollars of credit card debt on three different cards. I am paying 29.99% on two of them, and 22.99% on the other one.

I have tried to get a card with a better rate to transfer my balances to, but the issuers won’t give me one because I am using so much of my available credit now. I have not had any late payments on my credit accounts, tho.

Should I try to get a home equity loan to pay off the cards, or is that a bad idea, too?

I know that I got myself in this situation, and I am wholly responsible. I do not feel right about declaring bankruptcy, but really want to get out of debt somehow.

If I am unable to get a lower rate, then I don’t see a way to rid myself of the debt. Any advice?

Credit cards can both be your best friend as well as your worst enemy — and what they turn out to be, it depends on how you use them. Use them wisely and in emergencies, and they will be your friends for life — use them recklessly for compulsive shopping and they will turn into blood-sucking monsters.

So, if you are in a situation where you find that accumulated credit card debt is snapping at your financial heels, then it is time for credit card debt elimination. Here are a few practical ways how you can pay off credit card debt:

1. Use your credit card for emergencies only: It is impossible to altogether stop using your credit card. But it is definitely possible to use it strictly only for making emergency payments. So, step one is to stop using your credit card for luxury shopping, traveling, entertainment and eating out, and focusing its use on absolute necessities such as gas, groceries, etc.

2. Pay more than the minimum credit card debt: Credit card companies are tricky guys — they tell you they are making life easier for you by paying only a small percentage (2 to 3%) of your outstanding, and then they charge you a whopping interest on the unpaid balance. The result is disastrous — you keep spending more and paying only the minimum due, and your debt keeps accumulating. Therefore, if you want to get rid of credit card debt, you must pay more than the minimum amount due. Gradually, the interest amount will keep coming down and you will be able to repay the outstanding amount in a phased manner.

3. Take a home loan: Sure, the sub-prime market crash may have made taking a home loan an onerous task, but if you have a home and a whole lot of credit card debts, then mortgage your home, take a low-interest loan, and repay off the high-interest credit card debt. Remember, interest paid on home loans is a deductible expense and that is another benefit you derive with these loans. Of course, the primary advantage is that you are using this cash for repaying that monster credit card debt that is hanging around your neck!

4. Borrow from other sources: if you do not have a home to mortgage, then consider borrowing using your life insurance policy or your 401(k) plan. However, remember this: when you are borrowing to repay off expensive credit card debt, then you must not begin splurging once you square it up. Adopt austerity measures and concentrate on paying off the new loan in your life.

5. Shift balances: Analyze your credit cards and you will find that some of them have a lower rate of interest. If you do have such low interest cards, then shift the outstanding balances from your high-interest cards to these.

6. Negotiate with the credit card companies: If nothing else seems to be working, then it’s time to have a sit-down with your credit card company and place the cards on the table. Tell them that you are unable to pay the outstanding balances, and if they want their money back they will have to restructure the credit card debt. Every credit card company will sacrifice something to get their outstanding back, and nine times out of ten they will plan a good repayment deal for you.

That was how to pay off credit card debt faster. We hope the information was useful. And, good luck to you on finishing off your unwanted credit card debt.

What should I do about credit card debt? Do I have to pay it off before I can save for a house?
I'm 26 years old, I make about 50k a year and I want to start thinking about buying a house. What should I do with this nagging credit card debt? Aside from car payments, the only other debt I have is $5,000 on one of my credit cards. Can I think about saving for a house, or should I pay it off before I even consider it? Thanks.

Mastercards are a perk in life that can help build credit scores and can get us thru times of emergency when money isn’t available to do so. Unfortunately, credit cards are used for common-or-garden purchases in any case if the acquisition is a want or need, and cards are also employed in times of finance trouble further causing debt. Though at the time of using the card it could seem like it is helping economize by saving money, after interests rates and charges that little purchase will result in a massive fiscal strain leading to years of debt.

It is necessary to realize when credit card debt has gone too far. A few factors can help establish when outside help is wanted to eliminate or cut back the amount due to creditors. Necessities being acquired with credit on a consistent basis sends a huge red flag that help is needed. Minimum, or less than minimum payments each month even on a semi-regular basis is a cry for help.

For those drowning in Credit card debt there is an option available called Debt Settlement. Different companies are available that can work with people to lower the amount on their visa cards, lower or eliminate fee payments, or develop plans to clear the visa cards. Debt Settlement will not only eliminate or seriously reduce money strain they may also stop hectoring calls from credit collectors.

Nonetheless, it is advisable going with a trustworthy and credible debt counselor before making any decision, this way you can save time through specialized advise coming from a seasoned debt counsel and cash by getting better ends up in a shorter span of time.
.

The credit card industry is so competitive that, whatever card you have, the chances are that somewhere out there is one that would be cheaper or better for you and you can change as often as you want! Literally billions of dollars are being used up on expenses that are only created because of the existence of the credit card industry.

A study by The UK Post Office found that a quarter of credit card holders said they had started the New Year more dependent on real credit than ever before with 41 per cent saying that they would be relying on their credit cards to pay for groceries and other daily expenses.

There are a lot of good reasons to be scared of credit cards, and not to have too many.

We live in an ‘I-want-it-now’ consumer culture, and we’re willing to pay more than we can afford to fund our lifestyles. Credit cards are called credit cards to avoid saying what they really are: debt! You will do much better in all things connected to credit cards if you always remember this simple mantra: credit cards are debt cards.

If you had bad credit, you couldn’t get a credit card at all. Once you’ve got a credit card, you’ll find that you can do more with it than just pay for things with the card. Whatever you do, though, don’t spend a whole day applying for every credit card you can find, just to see if anyone will take you.

Lot’s of people who are regular credit card users realize that debt consolidation can bring in several benefits. A loan can be taken for the sole purpose of debt consolidation and often it is at lower rate than what you might be paying to the credit card issuers. You can save money by clearing your credit card bills that might have been attracting very high interest rates. Credit cards are there to put you in debt and keep you in debt. Less than half of all the UK’s credit card users pay off their bills every month and millions are now believed to be using plastic money to pay for everyday necessities, including super market, groceries etc.

If you’re a good customer, you’d be surprised how easy it is to get a better rate.

Far more people get buried in debt because they lose their job, or get sick they take out credit cards to pay for basic expenses, and fall into the interest trap. For higher interest rates, it only gets worse: there are cards out there where only making the minimum payments will actually cause you to owe more each month, not less! Companies giving out small loans are far more likely to rely completely on this rating than to bother checking your income, and a worse rating will mean that you are offered a higher interest rate.

Your limit is just that: a limit, not a minimum! Whatever you do, don’t get a card and immediately spend your whole limit. The average family carries a balance of between 5,000 and 8,000 pounds on all their credit cards, depending on which figures you believe.

Most people don’t work this out, and feel that the payments must simply be their fault for spending too much money to begin with. To avoid being in a credit card debt try to transfer as much money as you can from the high-interest cards down the list to the lower-interest ones.

Phoning companies to ask to negotiate your debts isn’t a good idea it’s too easy to get flustered and say the wrong thing. When you have enough money to pay off your debt, there’s absolutely no reason to keep it. Debt is for people who don’t have the money, and need to borrow it. Debt costs money, and savings make money you want as much of your finances as possible to be savings, not debts. If your savings account and credit card are with the same bank, then you’re effectively paying for the privilege of borrowing your own money from them. Why would you do that?

If you’re in a really bad situation, and you just can’t even make your minimum payments this month, don’t worry. As long as there’s only one late payment, it doesn’t matter too much, especially once a year or so has gone by. Pay attention to what kind of fees you’ll be charged for a late payment, or if you take a cash advance, or if you accidentally exceed your limit on the card.

Don’t let stigmas put you off; this is about your health. People with lots of debts don’t want to talk about it, even with their family, for fear of upsetting people or looking like a failure. It is very important, though, that you do talk about your problems, as keeping it all inside yourself will make you much, much more stressed.

Your rating is important when you get car loans and mortgages too. It is also worth considering that the credit reports of anyone you live with may be linked to your report, and could reflect badly on you your wife or husband’s credit rating is tied to yours quite closely.

Good cards can have a grace period of up to two months bad ones might not have one at all. Check that the card you’re looking at has a grace period on purchases.

The most dangerous thing about debt consolidation loans is that the ones with lower payments generally last a very long time you could be paying it off for twenty years, or even longer. If you’ve got a really unmanageable amount of credit card debt, you might be considering a consolidation loan. If you do take a debt consolidation loan, you need to read the small print as if your life depended on it (it does), and then be very, very careful.

In some countries, you might not have a legal leg to stand on your card issuer can do what they like to you. When it comes to Credit Card Issuers, getting it in writing also means that you can hold them to what they say later on.

Most creditors would rather let you pay back a tiny fraction of what you owe than have to try to get money out of a bankrupt. They’ll be able to lend you the money at a much better rate than a credit card would, simply because they know why you’re taking the loan and can set regular monthly payments for you to repay it.

You need to sit down, work out a budget, cut unnecessary expenses and try to free up as much money as you can to pay back debts. When you’re paying back debts, a little strategy can make a difference of hundreds or even thousands of pounds.

If the advice you get is to sign up for another loan from one company in particular, don’t believe it the chances are that the person you’re talking to is just a salesman in disguise. If you are identified as sub-prime, you’ll start getting offers for loans secured on your property they know that if you can’t pay, they’ll get their money anyway.

Credit unions are like banks, only more local.

You probably don’t think about it, but using a credit card basically makes your money worth less than it would be usually. That’s why it feels so hard to pay a credit card back if you borrow a dollar from a credit card at 15% interest, sit on it for five years, and then give it back, guess what?

Essentially, every company has a slightly different way of working out how much interest you should pay each month. You might also note that consumers with more debt have less to spend and when money isn’t flowing, it hurts the economy.

You might think that one card issuer won’t know what you’re doing with a competitor’s card, but you’d be wrong. Don’t worry if you don’t understand all the maths involved here with credit card interest rates; it’s been deliberately designed by mathematicians and marketers to be as confusing as possible, to stop you working out what a bad deal you’re getting. After all, if you haven’t read this, would you really ever turn down a month off paying your bills?

If you’re in a situation where you’re relying on advances, you should start using your card for smaller things where you wouldn’t usually bother, just to avoid taking the advances and paying more interest. Transferring your entire balance to another card will make them sit up, take notice, and start making you much better offers than you ever got before.

In all things in life, remember that no-one gives you anything for nothing least of all credit card companies.

Help answer the question about credit card debt

How will settling credit card debt affect my credit score?
I have several accounts on my credit that are all in good standing. I just have one credit card with $25,000 in debt. I was making payments on it but when my husband was laid off, I couldn't make payments. It's over 90 days due and I want to settle the debt but I am afraid of how it will affect my credit score and what I can do to make sure it is not too negative on my credit. Any advice?
